The Vitruvian Man is perhaps Da Vinci’s most famous illustration and is his own reflection on human proportion and architecture. The illustration brings together ideas about art, architecture, human anatomy and symmetry in one distinct and commanding image. By combining text and illustration, Da Vinci evokes a meaning which could not be created through words or image alone. Leonardo da Vinci. Painter. Sculptor. Architect. Musician. Engineer. Inventor. Anatomist. Geologist. Cartographer. Botanist. Writer. In fact, so diverse were his talents, and so deep his thinking that an altogether new term was coined to describe him – a Polymath. Could there be a better inspiration for our school? We at Royale Cambridge have created a curriculum that is rich in inquisitiveness & imagination. This is reinforced by a learning environment that encourages a student’s growth through not just theoretical education but also its practical applications. Motivated by his flair for diversity, we continue to follow the motto that says: different people with different ideas may all be right because confluence is the most enriching way to meaningful growth & development. Encouraged by his amazing multi-disciplinary abilities, we encourage our students to reach beyond textbooks and push the very definition of the word ‘possible’.
