Hiring Nurse

Role and Responsibilities:

I. Health related:

1. To attend to the medical needs/ emergencies of students and staff, and to keep the School Doctor /Heads informed of the Emergency cases.
2. Collect, maintain and update medical performa of each student.
3. To ensure necessary equipment, medicines and supplies are available in the school clinic and give feedback to the school doctor of the same.
4. To fill the first aid boxes with supplies for the school buses, as per the doctors instructions.
5. To provide medical support in Sports day events and other school functions.

II. Safety in School Campus:

1. To support disaster management and evacuation drills in the school.

III. Administrative duties:

1. To supervise the maintenance of the medical rooms (cleanliness, hygiene and repair of infrastructure and equipment)
2. To maintain records pertaining to the medical services provided in the school clinic
3. To maintain the stocks register for medicines and supplies, on a monthly basis.
4. To get this list approved by the Doctor, AO and the Principal, before placing an order with the approved vendor, for the purchase of same
5. To do an annual stocks check of non-consumable medical supplies and equipment, and submit the report to the Doctor.

Skills required:

1. Excellent communication and listening skills
2. The ability to win the trust of children and encourage them to talk about their problems
3. The ability to explore sensitive issues with tact, understanding and patience
4. The ability to stay calm in an emergency
5. Record-keeping and organizational skill
