About NMKRV College for women.
NMKRV College for Women, Jayanagar, Bangalore is managed by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samiti Trust. It started as a Pre-University College in 1971 with 150 students. It was in 1973 that it was renamed as NMKRV Degree College for Women. Since then, the college has grown in strength and reputation and today it is known as one of the leading Women’s colleges in the State. NMKRV got its autonomy status in 2006, and in 2010 UGC awarded it with ‘College with Potential for Excellence’. NAAC has accredited the college with grade ‘A’ (3.22 CGPA) and it is now gearing up for the fourth cycle of accreditation. In addition, the college was identified for the support in the level ‘O’ category by DST under FIST programme in 2016. The college has received ₹1.35 Cr to revamp the Training & Research facilities in all the Science departments. In 2019 the college received 53lakhs under UGC STRIDE – Component 1 scheme towards capacity building among teachers and students. The college is a participating Institution under Unnath Bharath Abhiyan ,an MHRD initiative to connect Higher educational institutions with rural India.
