Dance Studies

• We invite applications for positions in “Dance Studies” from outstanding candidates who will contribute diverse perspectives and experiences to a global learning and interdisciplinary research environment.
• Successful candidates with evidence of creative, scholarly, and research activities and experience with curriculum development, ability to choreograph and stage student productions would be preferred along with clear and consistent communication skills. The ability to collaborate with colleagues with diverse artistic, aesthetic, and philosophical viewpoints and practices would be desirable. Candidates should preferably have teaching and/or performing expertise at the regional/national level and a demonstrated ability to contribute to the diversity of the program and the university.
• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in dance or allied disciplines. Candidates should have had training in areas of movement practice (Dance, Theatre, Community Practices, Improvisational Practices)
• The candidate should have evidence of creative/scholarly / research activities
• And preferably a good track record in publication and successful grant application in the relevant areas and preferably a good track record in designing and teaching courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels) in the fields mentioned above would be a plus.

Art History /Theory

• We invite applications for positions in global “Art History” from outstanding candidates who will contribute diverse perspectives and experiences to a global learning and interdisciplinary research environment.
• Successful candidates will be expected to develop courses that embed art in global processes locally, nationally, and transnationally as well as specialty courses in their area of expertise such as art history, contemporary art theory, artistic production and practice, and/or visual cultures with an emphasis on the global south, and curatorial practices.
• All courses taught should contribute to an interdisciplinary curriculum of the department and the University.
• Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in an appropriate field. Candidates should have a marked interest in the areas of South Asian art and visual culture; history of art and photography; global modernism; contemporary art with an emphasis on South Asia.
• The candidate should have a good track record in publication and successful grant application in the relevant areas and preferably a good track record in designing and teaching courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels) in the fields mentioned above. A knowledge of postcolonial theory and curatorial interventions would be an advantage.

Art Practice

• We invite applications for positions in “Art Practice” from outstanding candidates who will contribute diverse perspectives and experiences to a global learning and interdisciplinary research environment.
• Successful candidates will be expected to develop courses within practice as well as specialty courses in their area of expertise such as drawing/painting, graphic novels, photography, digital media with VR/AR and sound. Candidates adept at using digital media with VR and AR in artistic production and practice would be preferred.
• All courses taught should contribute to an interdisciplinary curriculum of the department and the University.
• Candidates must hold a MFA/MVA or similar visual art postgraduate degree.
• Candidates should have a good track record in exhibiting work/projects consistently and preferably a record in designing and teaching courses (both undergraduate and postgraduate levels) in art practice within their specific fields of study.
